Mr. Draves received his J.D. degree in 1978 from the University of Florida College of Law and his B.S. in 1967 from the University of Wisconsin.
​He was admitted to the Bar of the State of Florida in 1979 and to the United States District Court of Appeals (Middle District of Florida) and the United States Court of Appeals (Eleventh Circuit) in 1982 and has engaged in the private practice of law from 1979 to the present.

Mr. Draves is a member of the Florida Bar and the Orange County Bar Association and is an on-going participant in the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association.
